Its a car park! Was clean and well lit. Car was still there the next day. Premier inn only a few mins walk away.
An excellently placed multi car park for proximity to RSC Theatre in Stratford and river access, with possibility of walks along the river and into town. It is easy to access the car park, with car plates recognition. We only have to type in the registration number on returning to the park. An hour is free and charges are reasonable.
We spent over 10 minutes trying to pay. There is a gap between the screen and the protective glass meaning you have to get just the right position and touch in order for the key to register. If you don't complete this process within a certain time, the computer will time out and you have to start again. We entered out licence number twice and it didn't register. Computer just said no. We tried different machines in different combinations but no. On the third attempt, it finally worked. The payment system is so technologically advanced that it doesn't work. Please bring back the old system. It used to be quick to pay, but is now a nightmare. My elderly friend couldn't figure it out and if I wasn't there, he would have easily been trapped for hours. Somebody please do something! Help!!!
Always park here when we visit Stratford. There are always young men who gave set up sleeping bags and today there was a tent pitched. The council has a responsibility to provide homes for these young men.No one should be homeless like this. The car park is convenient. Not too expensive. Downside. One of the lifts is broken down. I'm not disabled so can't park in the reserved bays but do have difficulty on stairs so do rely on the lifts.
The first multi-storey car park without tickets etc. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Convenient etc. Until I went to the pay station to pay. Crazy high price of 6 for 6 hours, and the worst of it is, their cameras never picked up my registration number properly, so my car wasn't on the system! Luckily there was a 'help' option on the screen which I pressed. This resulted in a message claiming that my registration wasn't yet recorded in the system (REALLY? After 6 hours of being away from my car?). In fact, in reality they couldn't read my number plate for whatever reason, even though it wasn't dirty or obscured. Regardless, I was then asked to enter the time I entered, which I had to guess, then enter my registration. Paid with my card and then started to worry that the system won't let me out! However, it did! Technology is good.... when it works!
