Very bad service allows students to change wheels without them being checked and when confronted about this Karl's excuse was .. well if I had to check all the work he did I may as well do it myself... I thought training someone was actually training and not leaving a 17 year old responsible until at least qualified or been there longer than 3 months. Luckily nobody was hurt when the wheel came off the customer vehicle but the customer should not have been put in this situation anyway. Surely it is a legal responsibility for all works that are done by a student are checked???? Especially a school leaver as they have no previous experience.. absolutely disgusting and gobsmacked at the attitude of this owner.
Wanted a 'squeeky belt' changing (I'm not a mechanic) spoke to the boss on the phone and he quoted me 35. Went in and dropped the car off, they advised it would take them 2 hours. I phoned them after an hour and a half and they said my car has two belts and one of them was wrong, they told me my car would need another half hour. I went back and they produced a bill for 87. They had added on another belt cost and 50 worth of labour (none of which I asked for) the boss argued with me and tried to blame me for 'self diagnosing' and told me he was going to take the parts off again if I didn't pay and took my keys off me. I refused to pay any more than my quote of 35 as he hadn't informed me of the price increase when I called to see how the car was doing and did work I hadn't asked for. I ended up paying 35 as I knew I was in the right.The actual mechanics were lovely and polite, couldn't fault them.NEVER GOING AGAIN.
