Stayed twice good both times. Not quite 5 stars but consistent in all areas I've experienced. The old side is better than the new side!

Had a one night stay here, the room was lovely with a big comfy bed. Lots to choose from at breakfast, cereal & fruit....& Pickled onions! Also great selection of cooked breakfast buffet style. The morning coffee was really nice. All the staff were friendly & helpful, would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

They charge to park your car and its difficult to find a parking space due to non residents parking and using town because they only pay 1 more than guests. They need to at least double the non residents parking charge to free up space for staying guests. If lucky and you find a space to park you are then faced with a hike dragging bags back to reception and then a tour of this rabbit warren like hotel finding your room. Cant see how the main building can be disabled friendly. Check-in was very slow as example parking and getting room card took 52 mins. Expensive stay and they even try to squeeze a charity donation from you on leaving. Rooms not very big having a table 3 inches from my face, head and pillow means the king size bed don't fit. Our room was tired and in need of some TLC along with noisy radiator which had to be turned off to stop it whistling. Pool gets really packed at weekends and half of it is roped off for cross channel trainers so beware of being swam over if you are just having a relaxed swim. Spa people reserve the limited pool beds and chairs just like you see abroad, books and towels but nobody actually using them. No bubble tub which I thought strange seeing the hotel type and star rating. Disappointed as for paying less I've stayed at hotels with bigger rooms and better facilities in the same area, so cannot see me returning to the Alveston, it was once a quality hotel when Forte owned it.

Fabulous experience. Just because the staff are so lovely. The food exceptional and it's a beautiful building. Highly recommend.

We spent a few nights here as part of a Shakespeare exploitative tour of the rip off capital of England. It was a good base for the tour and is within easy walking distance of the town centre. The photos you see are somewhat deceptive if you are expecting a real Tudor building. Whilst the front is certainly genuine once you pass through that section you are confronted with modern annexes etc. However the rooms are decent and the cost of our stay, which included breakfast, was reasonable. The breakfast spread is excellent and is to be recommended. We had a few drinks and some food in one of the bars and it did seem a trifle steep. In conclusion, would recommend if you can get a good deal.
