Great place. Hidden away in a lovely old building in the heart of Stratford. Staff were all very friendly, food and drinks were good value. Will definitely recommend

Had a lovely breakfast with my daughter who's only 3. The lady was so nice, made a hot chocolate at the perfect temperature for my daughter. We were made to feel welcome. Very reasonably priced also. Loads of seating inside. Looks small from the outside but actually very large.
A step back in time, tea room serving lovely food in a beautiful old building that is full of character. There is a shop on the ground floor with seating on the ground floor or two further floors. A wide menu choice is available. A must to visit when in Stratford. They have a postcard to fill in details to be entered into their free afternoon tea draws each month.
There's been a tea room here since the 30s apparently; the building itself is older than that by more than 300 historic years, and both are wearing brilliantly and well worth a visit. Our large party of 9 was greeted warmly by charming and smiling staff in the bakery downstairs through which you enter, and tables were promptly rearranged upstairs in one of the many rooms. Walking past the array of home made cakes set out as you walk through from the bakery... was an exercise in serious temptation. Which some later indulged - as delicious as they promised!Our breakfast was fresh and tasty, typically English, with hash browns on offer which my American friends would love. We loved them too. Lashings of tea and proper toast... as yummy as breakfast should be.This is a serious tea room offering a friendly welcome, home baking and with breakfast and other fare available too. I am sure at times, in high season, it must be packed. It is well worth waiting, if so. Indulge yourself!
